Clip compared with influencers
Prices for working with influencers depend on a few things, which include engagement rate, number of followers, content or post type, and more. While it's difficult to compare the two of them mainly because there are too many data points, we can compare content creators with micro-influencers to understand the differences.
Clip's pricing structure
- Starting price - £69/per video
- Revisions - 1 round included
- Licensing rights - full licensing, in perpetuity
Micro-influencers pricing structure
- Starting price - £150/per post
- Revisions - it depends on the influencer
- Licensing rights - starting at £100/month
Savings
*based on a potential order of 5 videos, including licensing- Clip = £345 (5 videos billed at a minimum of £69 each)
- Influencers = £1250 (5 videos billed at a minimum of £150 each plus one-month licensing of a minimum £100 billed for each video)
Why do we compare them with micro-influencers?
From our perspective, micro-influencers (10k to 50k followers, according to Shopify) are the closest to our content creators from a skillset perspective. They have experience working with brands, including video creation, which can be showcased on their social media.
Our creators are in a similar situation: they have experience working with brands showcased through their introductions and portfolio videos. It's mandatory for them to upload intro videos and a minimum of three portfolio videos to be considered for Clip.
According to a survey of brands from our platform, micro-influencers can charge between £150 and £300 for a video post (reel) and anything between £100 and £200 as a monthly recurring fee for content licensing rights.
There are a few points to consider in this comparison:
- Brands can potentially work with nano-influencers instead of micro-influencers to reduce costs, but there's a risk of compromising on quality. Nano-influencers, in many cases, are just starting and need the experience to create videos that engage. While cutting on costs might seem like a good idea initially, it involves too much risk for the end result.
- Prices go even higher when working with macro-influencers. A general rule of thumb is that the more followers you have, the more you can charge.
- We did not consider other fees here, which might make working with micro-influencers more expensive. I'm referring to agency fees for discovering and managing parts of the process between the two sides or platform fees in specific cases.
- Working with micro-influencers can bring more awareness or potential sales , so it all depends on a brand's ultimate goal.
