Creator Spotlight With Amy

In this episode of our Creator Spotlight series, we sit down with Amy, a remarkable creator whose journey in the User-Generated Content (UGC) space has been nothing short of inspiring. Amy shares her experiences, challenges, and insights into what it takes to succeed as a UGC creator.

"You are one of the very special creators that we're basically can just this is brilliant everything you so much this is gorgeous just keep going."

Amy began her journey in UGC at the start of the year after attending a UTC event. She recounts how she initially disagreed with the common advice to 'niche down' and instead chose to explore various avenues, which has greatly benefited her career.

"If you don't want any and never looked back actually because we were in one of the previous episodes we talked about the difference between influencers and content creators."

Amy's background is diverse; she worked part-time for the NHS during the lockdown, which was a challenging period for her. She also trained to become a fitness instructor and set up her own social media presence, which taught her valuable lessons about managing a business and marketing.

"I work also work part-time for the NHS and I was one of the people that still had to work through lockdown which I hated. I really wanted to be that person that was getting all of their home DIY done or whatever but I was there working."

Amy officially kicked off her UGC career in December last year. She emphasizes the importance of joining a platform to gain experience and support when working with brands.

"If I could give one piece of advice to any new it would be to join a platform because I think that's the safest place for you to start working with brands and to gain your experience."

Amy also shared her struggles with balancing a part-time job and her passion for creating content. She recently took the leap to focus full-time on her UGC career.

"I did leave my job the end of so technically April was like the first full and technically first full 2 weeks because I took 2 weeks holiday first to restart."

She advises new creators to not wait for the 'perfect moment' to go full-time but to take the leap when they feel ready.

"Do not wait for that golden moment when once you close that door that's when another door more confidence."

Amy also highlights the importance of having a supportive community and the challenges of dealing with brands that do not respect personal boundaries.

"This is why it's important to talk to other creators and build your own little UGC community because we talk to each for advice and questions but it's it's that whole thing we talk to each other support each other."

The podcast also delves into the intricacies of creating content, from understanding briefs to managing time effectively. Amy shares her routine for filming and editing, emphasizing the importance of planning and organization.

"I always write a list of everything I want to film whether it's all of the b-roll shots I want to get all right them out what they angles I want to get if I leave them right down voice over or talk to camera so that I can then take it off once I've done it."

To conclude, Amy reflects on her favorite aspect of being a UGC creator, which is the supportive community and the opportunities it brings.

"I don't know another community other than the fellow UGC creators we'll band together we've got each other's back we support each other the minute you post something online everyone's thinking this is great well done etc."

Amy's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance, community, and the willingness to take risks. Her story is sure to inspire many aspiring creators.
